Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Bubble Plum

#100 – Bubble Plum

This is a fairly new nail polish and from what I have noticed, this is a new trend. I tend to not upkeep my nails because I work on a sales floor and nail polish has a short life span. I walk around mainly with the chip of nailpolish stuck in the middle of my nail because I am too lazy to pick it off or remove it. The main reason I bought this was curiosity.

The Sugar Coat colors.

The nail polish is marketed as a “textured polish” and comes in a durable, decent sized bottle that has a textured coating on the front which I love. The cost ranges from $5-$6 which is the typical Sally price and cheaper than brands at Ulta and Sephora.

Thoughts on the products: The polish was easy to apply at first but as I kept applying, it was hard to keep a consistent amount without having to constantly dip the brush back into the bottle. I felt as if the consistency was of what the bottle would be like if I had left it open for a significant amount of time where it would start to dry. The product has tiny beads that help the textured look and feel.

I love the color. It is more of a spring type color but adds a nice touch to a summer outfit. What I really loved was the fact that even though it took many swipes to add the color, the color was rich so that if I was careful, one coat would be all I would need. The product took no time to dry and I think the texture helped in that department.

As you can tell from the photo, my nails do look textured. I did not have much hope for the nail polish lasting but for the most part, it is holding on strong. I am on day 3 and there is slight chipping on the tips (I am a nail tapper). I think the polish is a cool thing to try and I do not mind the texture feeling of the nails but I am not big enough into polish to have this as my go-to polish. I think this is more of a spontaneous polish.

Overall, I am happy for the lasting power and how low maintenance this polish actually was. I hate waiting for paint to dry. I would say, if you want a cool summer trend to show off to the girls, try this out. Sally is usually good about coupons if the price is something you do not want to spend on for a “gimmick”.

Final Rating: 7.5/10

Impulsive Haul – May

20130518-235612.jpg

I absolutely love when the season’s new makeup comes out or when I find new products in general. Pictured are some finds that I am really excited to review and blog to you guys! I am impulsive at times when it comes to products (as you can tell by the amount of products I plan to review) and I just had to buy these. Within the next week I am going to try each and then give my opinion on them. I hope you all are as excited as I am. 🙂

Peace and love,
Diane
